In the sunroom
The sun is in the sky. Our sunroom is behind the kitchen. I put the box on the table at the window.
There is a big sunflower in a pot next to it. My sunglasses are on the sunroom floor.
"Where is the key?" my mother asks. "It is in my hand." The key is not in my pocket now. It turns — and the box opens.
Inside there is one old photograph. In the sunlight I see a tall white tower by the water. "There is a tower by the water," I say.
There is a young man in front of it. I don't know him. "Don't sit in the sun all day — you will get sunburn," says my mother at the sunroom door. Behind her the garden is bright.
But at sundown the sunlight is orange, and I am still here. Her old sunlamp is in the corner, but I don't need it.
